It is a 2-door car powered by a 1. 8 liter inline 4-cylinder engine, coupled to either a 6-speed automatic, or 6-speed manual transmission. Like all the elantra models, the coupe is front wheel drive. It outputs a modest, but ample, 148 horsepower, and returns up to 38 mpg on the highway. The wheelbase of the coupe is the same as that of the sedan, and the engine is the same one too. Hyundai have really just changed their 4-door sedan into a 2-door couple with some body restyling to create a new generation of vehicle. To be honest, one of the biggest differences between the two is the choice of three new colors, black noir pearl, volcanic red and monaco white that are exclusive to the new model. Two trim levels are available on the elantra coupe, the gs and se. The base gs has 16-inch alloy wheels and the se has 17-inch alloy wheels. The se has its suspension tuned to be sportier than the gs. Both trim levels are fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, but a 6-speed automatic gearbox is available as an option for each trim. Safetythe 2013 hyundai elantra coupe has full length side curtain airbags, front seat side airbags, active front head restraints, antilock disc brakes, a traction control system and a stability control system. There’s certainly a fluid flow of lines that curve and sweep from front to rear to provide a really good first impression of the car. Interiorthe interior of any elantra car is breathtakingly good and the coupe is no exception. While a coupe design can place limits on the interior of the car, hyundai seem to have avoided this somehow as the cabin is spacious and roomy. Stretch out room is ample in both front and rear. The dash looks futuristic and visibility is excellent all round. The two are so similar in most respects. The driver sits a bit lower, however, but the seat is more supportive. The ride is smooth and comfortable, and the car accelerates briskly, if not with rocket-like power. Steering is positive and responsive, and braking is hard and satisfying.
